Romanticizing my Sins
Playboy magazines have been an unhealthy obsession for me since I had found it at probably much too young of an age. Yes I probably liked it because I was a closeted child. Yet I believe I also enjoyed it for how liberating those woman felt, I wanted to be just like them. Which was a direct contradiction to the preaching around me of course. This piece is a liberation statement from myself, of embracing those sides of me despite what I grew around.

American Beauty
A lot of my art focuses around blending femininity and masculinity. One type of imagery I specifically enjoy is showing it with gender labeled hobbies. Hunting being one of the main one that feels not only dominated by males but also aggressively masculine in its traits. That's why I decided to mix it with one of the oldest symbols of beauty, Venus. Specifically the Birth of Venus. If she shot down the sailors of course.
